About Professor Anderson

David V. Anderson is a professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University in 1993 and 1994 and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Tech in 1999. His research spans audio and psycho-acoustics, machine learning, and signal processing informed by human auditory characteristics, with an emphasis on real-time and hearing-related applications, including work that led to a commercial digital hearing-aid algorithm.

In addition to his faculty role, Anderson serves as Assistant Director for Advocacy and Conflict Resolution in Georgia Tech's Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Education. His honors include the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, both received in 2004.
